Thank you for considering joining our affiliate program! I'm sure it's going to be a valuable source of income for you, given our generous commission rate and incentive program. But first let me tell you just a little about how the “Skip the Scams” course came to be.

When I began affiliate marketing, I had two main concerns: Would I get scammed because I didn't know what I was doing? and, How am I going to get past this information overload and get something accomplished? Well, I made it through without losing too much money and eventually got a handle on it, but it was a long, hard road.

So the motivating force behind the creation of this web site and e-course was my desire to help newbies avoid being victimized by all the scam artists who would prey on their inexperience, given the opportunity. And since beginners are so often overwhelmed, another goal was to condense and organize all the information needed for a person to get started in affiliate marketing using solid, effective, ethical techniques.

I hope that you share these ideals and goals and will promote the “Affiliate Marketing Schoolbook Beginner Course” in a way that is consistent with them. In other words, less hype, more realism. Please make sure you read my sales page carefully, whether you will be directing your customers to it or will be creating your own. It goes into more detail about my approach, which is the same basic approach I would like my affiliates to take.

As an affiliate marketer myself, I know well the hard work that is involved in promoting others' products. You deserve to be treated with respect and fairness, as do I. The agreement at the bottom of this page will help both of us to be aware of our roles in this partnership, so to speak. Unlike most contracts of this nature, it is written in plain English, so please read it carefully before you apply, as well as the FAQ section below.

FAQ

Who handles your affiliate programs?
We have affiliate programs with both ClickBank and E-junkie.

Is it free to join your affiliate program?
Yes, it is entirely free, as are the accounts at ClickBank and E-junkie.

What are ClickBank and E-junkie?
They are affiliate management solutions that track and report affiliate sales, making it easy for us to monitor, communicate with, and pay our affiliates.

How does your affiliate program work?
You place links or images on your site that direct buyers to our product. ClickBank and E-junkie will embed your affiliate ID in these links, so that when someone buys the product, you will receive the commission. We deposit your earnings into your PayPal account monthly.

How much do you pay?
We pay a very substantial 55% commission on the item's price. For this $97 product, you will earn $53.35 for each unit sold if you're using E-junkie. With ClickBank, the commission will be $48.80, because ClickBank takes their cut before paying commissions.

How does the incentive program work?
For additional motivation to sell our product, we will be paying out a quarterly extra bonus by means of a random drawing when our sales reach a predetermined level. You will automatically receive one entry in the current drawing for each sale you make; therefore, the more items you sell, the better your chances of winning the cash. The prize amount will fluctuate according to how many items are sold overall, by everyone together. To start with, we're setting a minimum overall number of 50 per month. When we have 3 months in a row with at least that number sold, the prize at the end of the quarter will be $250. See below for the breakdown:

Overall number sold per month = 50
Prize = $250
Overall number sold per month = 100
Prize = $500
Overall number sold per month = 150
Prize = $750
Overall number sold per month = 200
Prize = $1,000

At this time, $1,000 will be the upper cap. We may change the conditions of this incentive program as we monitor its success. We'll notify you before the quarter ends if we will be changing the program for the following quarter.

How do I keep track of my sales?
For ClickBank: Log into your account and you will see a Weekly Sales Snapshot and a Daily Sales Snapshot.
For E-junkie: In your “Affiliate Admin” panel, click on “View/Download Earning Report.”

How often do you pay affiliates?
We pay our affiliates approximately 30-35 days after each completed month. For commissions earned in January, you would be paid at the beginning of March.

Can I purchase through my own affiliate link?
You may use your affiliate link to purchase one copy of the product you are promoting, thereby earning a commission. We allow this because we are sure you will want to get familiar with its features and benefits. Any subsequent purchases by you or your immediate family using your link will not be eligible and will be viewed as a breach of contract.

Where do I get my affiliate links?
For ClickBank, sign in and go to the Affiliate Marketing Schoolbook Marketplace listing. Click on “Create HopLink.”
For E-junkie, sign in and go to the “Affiliate Admin” area, and click on “Get Affiliate Code.”

You can also use any of the banners, buttons, and text links we've created for you; just make sure you insert your ClickBank or E-junkie ID where indicated.

Are non-U.S. web sites eligible for your affiliate program?
Yes.

How to become an Affiliate Marketing Schoolbook affiliate

You must have an account at ClickBank or E-junkie in order to participate in this affiliate program. It's quick, easy, and free:

1. First, read our Affiliate Agreement below. Click on the appropriate sign-up button at the end if you agree to the terms. This will bring you to either ClickBank or E-junkie.

2. Sign up or sign in.

3. For ClickBank: Click on Create HopLink underneath the Affiliate Marketing Schoolbook listing and enter your nickname and then Create. Paste the resulting code into your web page. You can also use links, banner ads, or buttons from our affiliate materials page.
For E-junkie: Click on Get Affiliate Code. Select our program from the drop-down menu and choose either Get Affiliate Code again, which will give you the choice of Hop Link or Direct Link (explained below), or More Info, which will bring you back to our affiliate materials page, where you can get HTML code for our ready-made banners and buttons.

4. Paste the code into the source code of your site, and you're good to go!

E-junkie Hop Links vs. Direct Links:
Hop links will direct the buyer to our sales page. This option will result in commissions for you on any purchase the buyer makes at our site until the cookie expires at 6 months or is replaced by another affiliate's.
Direct links allow you to use your own sales page instead of redirecting to ours. With this option, you only earn commission on each individual sale.

AFFILIATE AGREEMENT

This agreement sets out the terms and conditions for membership in the Affiliate Marketing Schoolbook affiliate program. Heretofore, if we say “we,” we mean us, and if we say “you,” we mean you.

AFFILIATE APPROVAL
Clicking on the sign-up button below constitutes your promise to honor this agreement. We do not manually approve each applicant to this program. When you sign up with us at ClickBank or E-junkie.com, you will likely be automatically approved, but if we later determine that your site is not suitable as an affiliate for SkipTheScams.com, we reserve the right to terminate it—the agreement, not your site.

STUFF WE DON'T ALLOW
• Promoting anything in connection with this product that is sexually explicit, violent, unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, as decided by us.
• Promoting discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
• Violating laws pertaining to conducting business on the Internet.
• Infringing on ours or others' copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property. “I didn't know it was copyrighted” is not an excuse for such violations.
• Using a domain name that includes the exact terms “skip the scams” or “affiliate marketing schoolbook.” Of course, you are free to use the individual words since they are pretty common and I can't claim a trademark on them.
• Designing your web site in a way that implies it is an official part of “SkipTheScams.”
• Hijacking or intercepting other affiliates' commission tracking cookies. No foolishness of this sort will be tolerated. Keep your hands off the cookies!

YOUR AFFILIATE LINKS
You'll have available to you a wide variety of images, text, and links to use in linking to our sales page(s). You are granted a non-exclusive license to use them, but you may not modify them in any way. You are, however, free to link to us using your own text and images as long as they are not derogatory or otherwise violate our policies.

We use ClickBank and E-junkie.com to track and report our affiliates' sales. You are responsible for making sure that your links are formatted properly with your ID, as this is how we figure out whose PayPal account to fatten. We are not liable for any lost commissions resulting from your failure to ensure the accuracy of your links. Any questions or problems with your affiliate ID should be taken up with ClickBank or E-junkie.

ClickBank's cookie lasts for 60 days. There are two different types of links provided by E-junkie: One has a 6-month cookie, meaning you would earn a commission on anything that customer buys from us over the next 6 months, assuming your cookie remains in their browser and wasn't replaced by someone else's. The other is only good for that particular purchase. You will want to read E-junkie's explanation of the differences and advantages/disadvantages of these.

PAYMENT OF COMMISSIONS
You will earn a commission for all eligible purchases made by customers you refer to our site. Eligible means that they buyer completes payment for the product, doesn't ask for a refund, and the link they followed to get here was not tampered with.

Commissions are paid monthly via PayPal, no sooner than 30 days after the month ends, for all referral fees earned during that month. For example, commissions earned from purchases made in the month of April will be paid at the beginning of June.

Exceptions:
1) If the payable amount is less than $100, we will hold the commissions until they reach that threshold.
2) If a customer requests a refund from us within the 7- to 30-day window of our return policy, the commission will not be paid. We're sorry, but that's the way it has to be. Let's hope it's a rare occurrence.
3) If you use your own links to purchase products for yourself.*

*Exception to the exception: You may purchase one copy of the product for yourself and earn a commission on the sale, since you likely will want to examine the product you are promoting. However, any subsequent sales made to you or your immediate family will not earn a referral fee. This one copy will be for you alone; you may not share it with anyone. Attempts to get around this policy will result in termination of this agreement and your removal from the program.

METHODS OF PROMOTION
People who view your site may get the impression that it is endorsed or even created by us. Therefore, you need to be careful that your methods of promoting our product(s) don't violate our standards, and you must make it clear to visitors that your web site is independent from SkipTheScams.com.

For instance, spamming is absolutely, positively, and without exception forbidden, as it is in direct contrast to our purpose and would no doubt damage our reputation. This includes sending unsolicited e-mail, posting on blogs or forums that do not allow commercial advertising, or using any other tactic commonly considered to be spamming.

You may e-mail an already-existing list of subscribers—as long as they have an option to unsubscribe—and those who in the future may opt in at your site with the understanding that you will be sending them solicitations. You may promote our products in blogs and forums, but only in harmony with their stated policies. (Usually affiliate links are allowed only in your signature or in your profile, and sometimes only the profile.)

If we catch you spamming (and if you do it, we will catch you), this agreement will be immediately terminated and you will be banned from affiliating with us in the future. You will also forfeit any money we may owe you at the time the dirty deed is discovered.

We take a “no hype” approach to the marketing of our product. Hype is not needed, since the product stands on its own merit. It also detracts from our image. We may ask you to adjust your method of advertising if we feel it is not in harmony with ours. If you're in doubt, feel free to contact us and have us take a look at your site. We'd be glad to give you more details on what want and don't want to see.

One thing we definitely don't want to see in your advertising is the promise of easy money in a short time. We all know this rarely, if ever, happens. We'd like to get the point across that this can be a very lucrative business, but that it takes effort and patience to get there.

We have the right to check in on you and monitor your compliance with these terms and conditions. If we feel your methods are detracting from our image, we may ask you to make some changes. If you are unwilling or unable to adjust, you are free to end this affiliation, as are we.

You are also responsible for complying with existing or future FTC guidelines that apply to affiliate marketing methods, such as the disclosure of your financial affiliation with SkipTheScams.com. At a bare minimum, you agree to have a clearly visible link to your compensation disclosure on any page with a SkipTheScams.com affiliate link.

ORDERS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
We will take care of fulfilling orders placed by customers who come to our site from yours. These customers will be viewed as “belonging” to SkipTheScams.com, so we reserve the right to reject orders that for any reason are in violation of our policies (which are subject to change at our discretion). We can't really see this happening too often, but it could.

We are responsible for processing payments, cancellations, and refunds, as well as customer service. All information about the customers remains the sole property of SkipTheScams.com.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
You are solely responsible for all development, operation, and maintenance of your site and its contents. It is up to you to make sure nothing on your site is inaccurate, misleading, libelous, or illegal. That's beyond our control and therefore beyond our liability. We're not responsible for any expenses or damages resulting from the way you operate your site or conduct business. At worst, our liability will be limited to the commissions payable.

We cannot guarantee that our site will never be down or never have errors. That's just not realistic. We are not liable for any consequences, such as lost sales, that may result to you in those instances. You can be sure we don't want interruptions in service any more than you do, so we will be working quickly to fix anything that arises. We appreciate your help in that regard; if you notice something amiss with our site, please alert us.

MODIFICATIONS
There is a chance we will occasionally modify our affiliate program terms to adapt to changing circumstances. We will notify you by e-mail or by posting changes on our site. If you continue as an affiliate after being notified, we will take this to mean you agree to the changes and desire to remain in the program. If you don't agree, you always have the option of terminating the agreement.

OUR RELATIONSHIP
By accepting this Affiliate Agreement, you declare that you are an independent contractor and not an employee or representative of SkipTheScams.com or in any partnership or joint venture. This agreement doesn't authorize you to make any changes to our policies or represent our interests.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Since I am not using the usual legal mumbo-jumbo in this contract, if a dispute should arise over our merchant/affiliate relationship, you agree to be bound by the SPIRIT of this agreement as could reasonably be perceived by any objective third party with no ties to either participant.

TERM OF AGREEMENT
This agreement is in force from the time your application is accepted and will end when one of us says it's over. Either party may terminate this agreement at any time, for any reason, by giving written notice to the other party by either e-mail or snail mail.

If we agree to end the relationship, you will immediately remove all links to our site as well as any promotional materials provided to you by us. Any sales that may come from your site after the date of the written notice will not be eligible for commissions.

Any abuse, fraud, or dishonest manipulation of the terms of this agreement will result in your immediate termination from this program without notice. Any fraudulent sales will not be eligible for commissions, no matter when the sale occurred. In other words, there is no statute of limitations for fraud in this contract. Commissions you shouldn't have earned can be rescinded at any point.

This agreement supersedes all prior oral or written agreements between us and you.
