Just a quick post today to give you this link to a CNN story about work-from-home scams. They are more prevalent than ever. Desperation due to tough economic conditions is often the reason people often fall for swindlers. Another is a lack of proper research.

You should never have to pay to be employed as an at-home worker. If, on the other hand, you're starting your own home business online, there will be some minor investments. But as an employee of someone else, the checks should be flowing in your direction, not the company's.

Common sense goes a long way in identifying scams as well as programs that may not be scams but make promises that are too good to be true. There's definitely money to be made, but it takes work, just like in a regular 9-to-5 job. So whether you want an online job or your own online business, check the company out thoroughly before you commit to anything.
